Henry B. Humphrey (1809-1872)

 

Whose diaries are owned by the Massachusetts Historical Society in Boston. Humphrey travelled on the Nile with a Scotsman, Thomas Weir, and with an Englishman, J. B. Petre, a captain in the Royal Dragoons. He formed a valuable library which was sold in 1871 and he is buried in Mount Auburn cemetery in Cambridge.
